TSNZ FOCUS - Seonaid McIntosh

November 10th 2020

Seonaid McIntosh is a rifle shooter who is very familiar with pressure.

At only 16 she shot at her first ISSF World Shooting Championships, placing 11th in the Junior Womens 50m Prone.  Three years later she won Silver at the European Championships in the Junior Womens 10m Air Rifle, setting a new British Under-21s Record.   At 18 Seonaid competed in her first Commonwealth Games, placing 19th in the 10m Air Rifle event, and 4 years later she competed in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, qualifying at 7th in Air Rifle and placing 5th in the Final, and winning Bronze in both the 50m Prone and 50m 3P events.  Since then she has continued to compete very successfully internationally, most lately winning Gold and equalling the World Record of 599 in the 300m Prone event.   Seonaid’s World Rankings are currently 1st in Womens 3P, and 8th in Womens 10m Air.

We’re very lucky to have Seonaid joining us for a TSNZ FOCUS session at 8pm on Sunday 29th November to talk about “The Mental Approach to Shooting”, and to answer questions our NZ shooters may have for her.
