Staying Drug-Free in Target Shooting NZ
When it comes to fair play in sports, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) sets the global rules, including an updated list of banned substances. Here in New Zealand, Drug-Free Sport NZ (DFSNZ) ensures that these rules are followed in all sports, including target shooting.
On the Drug-Free Sport NZ website, you can:
✅ Check if your medications are allowed
✅ Learn about testing procedures (including Virtual Reality demos!)
✅ Understand your rights and responsibilities
✅ Apply for exemptions if you need medication for health reasons
✅ Find out what happens if someone breaks the rules
How does this apply to Target Shooting NZ?
TSNZ follows Drug-Free Sport NZ’s Anti-Doping Rules, which means:
🎯 Any TSNZ member can be tested at any time, in or out of competition
🎯 Testing mainly focuses on athletes representing NZ internationally, including at the TSNZ Outdoor Nationals
🎯 It’s every member’s responsibility to understand the rules
Stay informed, stay prepared, and keep your sport clean!
