Waikato 50 Metre Championship
November 9 @ 8:30 am - 1:00 pm
Report on the South Waikato / Waikato Outdoor Champs
Friday night was not the best of preparation for the weekend with us finding ourselves with an intermittent power supply. The power company guy was still working at 10pm to replace the pole fuse but eventually restored a reliable power supply.
Saturday morning was bright and sunny with very little wind making for some excellent conditions.
Ivor Brettell managed to edge out the ever favourite Martin Hunt by 0.4.
At the completion of the morning, we headed to Rotorua for their Air Rifle match, supported by some eager Rotorua shooters. The match was held under very warm conditions, and the shooters need congratulations for their effort.
Sunday dawned overcast with about the same wind conditions as Saturday, just without the bright sunshine. Martin managed to regain his number one position.
Well done to Chelsea for competing in both days shoot and making a good show of her talent.
Thank you to everyone who helped set up and break down the range, and to Alison for being our Range officer all weekend.
Thank you to Owen who managed to overcome his migraine and join us for prizegiving.
Although there was only a small bunch of us shooting, a very amiable atmosphere was enjoyed by all.
regards
Allison
