It is with sadness we share the news of the passing of Richard Knapp.

Richard KNAPP Obituary

On January 12, 2025 peacefully at Oakwoods, Richmond. Dearly loved husband of Ellen. Loved father and father-in-law of Margaret (deceased) and Mark, Toni and Russell, Debbie and Bruce. Loved Poppa to all his grandchildren. Aged 84 years. A private cremation has been held.

Dick 1st season 1964 . 1st AGM 1965. Vice president 1966. Final season 2010. Eventually Patron 3 or 4 years until he declined due to health etc. Richmond member on nelson executive for 40 odd years and at least 2 terms as President and selector for many years. Instigator of assn division and town v country shoots. Retired as a grade shooter 2010.

Dick was elected to the Richmond committee in 1965 and held all various
positions within the club for most of his tenure. Dick was awarded Life
Membership in the 1990s and Patron on his retirement. Also Dick was the
Richmond member on the Nelson executive from early on in his membership
serving as President for at least 2 terms and eventually as rep selector
both Nelson and South Island for many years.
