Submission’s to the Arms Bill

by | Jan 16, 2026 | News

TSNZ encourages all it’s members and their families to take the time to make a submission to Parliament on the Arms Bill. You have until midnight 16 February to make your submission and the more they receive in support of the Bill and for positive changes, the better off we will be as a sport that uses firearms.

Any restrictions on the number of firearms that you can own is very likely to affect our sport. This is because club rifles will have to be registered to a club member, consider that point when you make a submission. A person may have three rifles of their own but another 10 or more club rifles in their name. The anti-gun lobby want to place a limit of (three?) firearms per person.

TSNZ is a member of COLFO, who are very active in protecting our rights as firearms owners. They have been working for months to provided guides and videos to help us all make a submission to the Bill. I strongly recommend that TSNZ members follow the links below before making their submission. TSNZ will be making it’s own submission.

The following is supplied by COLFO.

Spread the Word. Seriously. Tell Everyone.

We are putting out content on social media and via our email lists but we can’t be everywhere. Please help us spread the word by sharing the following links on Facebook groups, hunting and shooting forums, gun club mailing lists, and anywhere else that we can’t be.

Any restrictions on the number of firearms that you can own is very likely to affect our sport

The goal is 100,000 submissions from licensed firearm owners to stand a chance to protect the future of shooting sports. We cannot throw away our shot.
