On the 19 October Margaret McCarthy from the Howick Smallbore Rifle Club and Target Shooting Auckland passed away. Margaret shot in the North Island Smallbore Teams during the 1960's and 70's. She made shooting jacket before the imports took over. Margaret also shot Fullbore with the Akarana and Clevedon Rifle Clubs, made many NZ Ladies Teams, organized and competed in many matches including Oceania, a keen 300m shooter and local competitions. Married to Max in 1957, they had 4 daughters and will be missed on the range.
