It is with great sadness that we hear of the passing of Alf Blewden, peacefully at 91. Alf was originally a member of the Kumeu Smallbore Rifle Club in the early 1960's and its Secretary from 1966. Alf was a key member of the building of the Waitakere Smallbore Rifle Club in 1972, when the Kumeu SRC was closed down.
Alf continued as the Waitakere SRC Club Secretary from 1972 - 1974 and then its Vice President until 1978. Alf was still active in the Club throughout the 1980's and was later made a Life Member. In 1989, Alf was elected as a Patron of the Club and he closely followed the activities of the Club and its development. He will be missed by many friends and family.
The funeral service for Alf will be held on Friday the 29th of September at 3:00pm in the Main Chapel of Morrisons Funeral Home; 220 Universal Drive, Henderson.
